One of the greatest hindrances to your child’s Faith Formation is poor attendance at RE classes. Absences affect the student’s progress. Please keep absences to a minimum. The class schedule is posted well in advance. We coordinate the dates with the public school calendar as much as possible to avoid major conflicts.
Please post the RE dates. Make attending classes a priority over sports. Be aware of what signals you are sending to your child if Faith Formation is often set to the side.
Please notify the child’s teacher if an illness or emergency prevents attendance. These absences are excused but all classwork missed should be made up at home. All assignments are expected to be completed and given to the teacher. Absences due to sports do not constitute an excused absence.
Repeated absences will result in notification by the DRE/CRE.
Arrival/Departure:
Students should arrive at least 5 minutes before class begins. Being late to class is disruptive and discouraged. Students should be picked up promptly at 10:15am. Please do not be late. Catechists cannot leave before all students have been picked up so be aware that your tardiness is a hindrance to them. If someone other than a parent is picking up a child, please make the catechist aware of this.
Student Discipline:
Our catechists are parishioners who volunteer their time and talents to share their love of God with your children. Parents and students are expected to treat each of our catechists with respect.
Students are expected to show respect and proper behavior to their fellow students. Be attentive in class. Students who disrupt class will be sent to the RE Office. If they are repeatedly disruptive, parents will be notified of the problem and will be expected to help their child have proper classroom behavior.
