Reconciliation and First Holy Communion: Students in Grade 2 will receive their First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion this year. The majority of their lessons will focus on these two sacraments. Attendance is particularly important because of the amount of information taught at each and every class. Prayers must be memorized and will be tested regularly. Parent meetings will be held prior to each sacrament and should be attended. Important information is distributed at these meetings. Students are expected to attend practice sessions, if scheduled. If a retreat is planned, attendance will be mandatory.
Proof of Baptism: Proof of Baptism must be provided to the Church Office. If your child was baptized at St. Thomas Aquinas in Freeport, please call the church office (815-232-3225). If your child was baptized at any other church, proof of baptism must be provided to the Office. First Communion will not be given without proof of Baptism.
